new member here. bought a 08 h3 while in the military. traded it and regretted it immensely. well the time has come and just picked up an 08 alpha. anything i should know? look forward to talkin with everyone. little background. spent 8 years in the army as a scout. Got out went to school worked as a detroit mechanic for a while and became a detroit master tech. now i work on a boat but i love my hummers so there ya have it im almost wondering if the one i picked up was owned by anyone on here. it came from Ardmore OK.

interior is awesome. the cargo area is completely rhino lined. alot of the undercarriage is powdercoated. tbh though im not a keep it clean kinda guy. its got 100k on it. but its an alpha and my 5.3L silverado is still running strong at 380k. im a mechanic so easy enough to fix things. first things first im dropping in a 20k gvw tranny cooler in and bypass that integrated POS. i dropped one in my silverado and it kept the trans about 150F in phoenix in july and august when I lived there. 300k on the trans in my half ton. heat kills 4l60s. im gonna add a gobi style rack and ladder to the rear. exhaust is already done. i want to snorkel it so if i have to go thru another hurricane harvey event ill be good. havent found much by way of bumpers other than ARB front and rear. id love if road armor made some for the h3. unfortunately they only make them for the h2. I may end up just fabbing my own. im gonna throw air lockers in front and rear. im sending off ecm and lots more. eventually im planning on dropping a 6.2L from an 08 denali in after a while considering built theyre pretty much the same size as the 5.3L and the wiring harnesses and ecms are the same among all gen 4 vortecs and possibly a 4L80. got tons i want to do. this will be my project vehicle.
