Default Greetings from the desert Southwest!

New member and new owner of a 2009 H3 C/E…that I can't wait to dump hard-earned cash into!
It's stock right now, took it for a test ride up the back mountain road to Sandia Peak here in NM yesterday, and while it's just steep grades, lots of snow-melt mud, and some ice, I was very very impressed with its capabilities.

I've got a quick question (if this is the wrong place to ask I will amend this post):
1. Can anyone point me to a parts list? One with, I don't know, something more than just the GM OEM part #? I'm trying to confirm exactly what cover (and if there's an aftermarket) will fit the front diff.

Since I'm planning on dumping all fluids and changing over to high end synthetic, I figured it would be an excellent time to also completely drain and take the diff covers off, take a look at the internals and then throw some better protection on 'em…

Thanks in advance folks!
Matt

Can't find a way to edit that first post, so I'll just add here that I'm asking about the front diff because every search I perform comes up with specs like its housing material, gear ratio, but not the actual model of the diff
Don't want y'all to think I haven't searched the forums, or the internet for that matter…

Welcome to HF. This section is for intros, if you have more tech questions, post those in the H3 section.

No need to mess with the front diff cover as it is always buried up behind the front skid plate.

H3s us a GM 10 Bolt Diff 8.6" Gear.

ARB, RocDoc.net and some others make rear diff covers.

Your specific 2009 H3 Championship Edition will have an AAM 7.6" cast iron front differential with an Eaton ELocker, 4.10 gears front and rear.
Good thought on changing out EVERY fluid since you have no idea when the previous owner/s changed them.
Do ALL fluids: Rear Diff, TCase, Transmission (drain, filter, add drain to OEM pan, refill, run for 100 miles swap out the fluid again), Brake, Coolant, Steering, etc. This will also give you an idea of what will need to be replaced based upon the condition of the fluids and and debris you may find in them.

Thanks Tainter… Is there a specific drain plug kit you'd recommend, or just whatever's available?
