Default Looking for a winch mount for my 2009 H3T

Hello! New to the forum and new to my fairly unmolested 2009 H3T with Adventure package on 315's. With the latest $200 off coupon, I've purchased the Badlands Apex 12,000lb winch from Harbor Freight and now I'm looking for a mount. The winch is too big for a hidden mount and I'd like it out front anyway. I'd prefer a plain mounting plate with maybe some push-bar type bars at each side of the winch for minimal winch protection in parking lots etc. Not interested in a full bumper replacement due to cost. The Smittybilt and Steelcraft mounts I've seen include the brush guard extending outward beyond the headlights, which is what I do not want. I would think there's a simpler mount out there, but The Google is failing me.

This H3T be a weekend driver and an occasional driver for a side job, pulling a 12' enclosed trailer. The same enclosed trailer is being modified for off-road camping, thus the desire for a winch.
Any help and advise appreciated!

Thumbs up

If you get a few more posts ( 5 total I believe ) I can Private Message (PM) you with CBs name & # for the CBphoto winch mount.
You can purchase directly from him and no middle man sticking their hand in the kitty.
Sounds like exactly what you are looking for. You can use it with whatever brush/grille guard you like or no brush/grille guard at all.

Thanks, I believe one of those would be fine. I had seen mention of him and his mounts, but his website is gone and IIRC he hasn’t logged on since 2016, so I assumed he and his products were gone.

i’ll post a few more comments and maybe you can send me his contact info.

I really like the last two photos, especially if some type of push bar could be added to help protect the winch.

I’ll also need to verify that the Harbor Freight Apex 12,000 winch can be used.

I’m not totally against the full sized brush guard; it’s kinda growing on me but I’d still prefer the compactness of push bars.

Perhaps I can get the basic mount and have a friend fab up some bars for it.

Maybe that’s enough comments for a PM...

No luck yet finding your email, and I can't find a "PM" option so maybe I don't have access to them yet. I've read the Help section but it doesn't specify exactly when a new user can PM so... just know that I am very interested. If you add "449" to the end of my screen name and @ that yahoo web site, you'll have a good e mail addy for me.
