They mating surface is shaped to the contour of the louver, so if you mounted them backwards or on the wrong side they would not sit flush. Not to mention these were stamped with a L and R on the underside. Flat side goes to the back flat side of the louver. So thanks for that observation............

BTW, this is a inner fender thread, and this is the pop clip tool you can use that would be faster than the small flat screwdriver method.

Are your handles marked L(drivers side) and R, also?

Nope....don't need to be....they're identical to each other. The mounting surface of the handles are machined square to the top surface (no angular cuts). The reason they angle 'outward' is because the hood grille tapers in that direction. The only other possible way they could mount would be to rotate them 180 degrees and then the front of the handle would be higher then the back which would be wrong. If you're still not convinced I suggest you go out and buy yourself a pair, install them, and then you'll have first hand experience to know what you're talking about.

They are mounted in the proper direction, yet from the pics they also lean outward(not level). If that's the way they were designed to mount, I will not buy a pair, since I suffer from a perfectionism disorder.
