What’s your favorite tire to run on stock rims?

Default What’s your favorite tire to run on stock rims?

I’m having trouble narrowing down what looks the best while also balancing highway drivability a few days a week.

I was digging through some old threads and these seem to be the most popular:

BFGoodrich-All-Terrain T/A KO2
Falken Wildpeak
Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain
Hankook Dynapro AT2

One thing that I don’t need but that I’d like to have is white lettering.

Looking to try and keep it under $1000 with installation.

4 tires installed w/tax "under $1000usd"?
Look here to compare>>>> 285/75 R16
I've been riding on Grabber A/T for many years, NEVER had an issue! They are old, yet not worn out, and when 1 decides to leak, I will replace ALL with the same!

Nokian tires. Best tires I've owned. Hands down. Only draw back they wear and get loud.

IMHO
Personal experience follows
dyanapro A/T suck. Sloppy, weak and noisy. Brother and myself both ran them. Both got rid of them quick.
BFG A/T. Expensive, out of round, hard to balance and over rated. Had them . Wore long but a whole lotta hype at a super high price.
Good year. Decent tire.
Falken. Haven't used yet.
Did all the tuff tire, bold looks stuff and honestly im happy i went back to a more refind tire lol. Currently I'm running a simple meaty tweener type tire tread. Less A/T more winter style block pattern with mucho siping.
My GF ran Patagonia A/T for long time. Great tire! She ran Nokian A/T too. Great tire. She now in running Nokian all season VERY nice tires.
Lol! That brother I spoke about is now running a winter tire year around and he loves them. Don't remember the name [I think maybe IPeak something or other].
Point being everyone has to pick there own poison. Good luck.
Oh yes, I forgot to add interco. Ran those to. Loudest, manlinest, out around, airplane tacking off super swamper ever tire. They were f'n great lol! Not!

I’ve been running Toyo Open County AT’s on my truck for a very long time. But I’m disappointed in the new AT3 as it’s louder than the previous AT2. The AT3 does have some gains over the 2’s though, so it’s still a good tire overall.

But I thought I’d try something new on the H3. I tried the 285/75-16 Cooper Adventurer AT3 XLT. So far they are much quieter than the Toyo, but the tread is tighter which is a big part of it. But on the XLT it’s got a more aggressive side wall to give it a more aggressive look to the tire.

The Coopers were cheaper then the Toyo, but I’m not sure you’re going to find them mounted, & balanced for under $1000 for 4 tires.

I drive with a heavy foot, yet I have never lost control on snow covered roads since, & I've never lost air! 5 stars *****since I don't carry a spare! The only downside, I can't get my 3 to go slide-ways on the snow covered roads.

thanks! I live in the northeast so snow will be an issue. Looks like these are the ones I’m going with. Now I noticed on my drivers door, and what’s currently on vehicle, recommends 265/75/16. Is there anything I need to do in order for it to fit the 285/75/16? Wasn’t sure if that was only offered on the adventure package or if my 06 base can just plug and play.

I do not put rice rubber on anything! Made in USA means something, I follow it.

Cooper STTs or AT3s, Mickey Thompson MTZs or ATZs.... Goodyears are not exciting, but far better options than rice rubber!

Is there anything I need to do in order for it to fit the 285/75/16? Pay for them is all you need to do.
