I know dry, I have been on this planet for over 50 years, I can tell when carpet is dry and then after a 30 minute drive it is wet. Happened again today carpet soaking wet after a 45 minute drive, was perfectly dry this morning when I left for work. Blue sunny skies all day.

Very simple, have not had the car in rain for weeks or washed it, and it's been hot Australian summer days day after day.

Blue skies 30 plus degrees C days day after day. Pretty sure it's not rain unless someone is trying to play a joke on me.

I will check it on the week end just to make double sure, but car has not been in the rain for weeks, hot summer days, car is stored in a dry shed unless it is being driven, carpet remains dry until you drive the car then the carpet gets wet.

Happened again today.

Have you been running the A/C? Maybe condensate is leaking into the cabin area instead of draining outside.

Good bet if the heat exchanger on RHD H3s is on that side, and it almost has to be.... I cannot remember for sure.

Aussie H3... look at this short thread and see if it helps spot the AC Drain (opposite side from yours) for investigation Small leak on heater core

????? I doubt a steering shaft and master cylinder rod would go through an hvac case.

I know that when I recently had the dreaded sunroof tube clog that soaked my footwell carpet, I was amazed at how much/long that padding underneath held on to water. It's like a closed cell sponge; once it gets wet, it doesn't want to release the water. Every square inch that has soaked it up must be squeezed. I pulled it up 3/4 of the way, and squeezed the **** out of it, and the water just kept on coming. Even when a section felt dry, squeezing an adjacent part would pour out even more. I propped it up and put a small ceramic heater under it and ran it for 3-4 days, and it STILL would pour out water when squeezed. Just throwing that out there, because even though it hasn't rained lately and it feels dry to the touch, you could still have water in areas of the foam that you haven't physically squeezed out that is still working it's way out.
