TRQ wheel hub and CV axle kit?
Hey all,
Continuing the work and progress on my 09' Hummer H3 milage 146,400
planning this winters work and such. This weeks task is a full coolant flush and T stat replacement as i got the codes that signalled it was time.
Anyhow amazon keeps suggesting me the TRQ cv axle and wheel hub kit. Is there any opinions on this kit and if i should or shouldn't use it?
Front cv axle boot is torn and worn from who knows how long ago so its probably time to do both of them anyhow.
If you have other reccomendations id love to hear them. Forum search didn't work out for me but im going to keep digging.

What you've linked is about the same price as the TRQ kit.

Which is 275 bucks.
I figure i should look to spend between 300 and 400 for a front cv axle and hubs replacement.
What I linked is over $450.00 for all 4.
The only thing to make sure on the trq set 06-10, the oe and timken bearings are different part #'s 06-08 & 09-10.

Good too know.
450 is still close to where i want to be.
I could do it in steps, but it is probably easiest to do them all at once though. Shop quoted me 900+ for it all. I think id rather have that in my pocket for the much needed battery upgrade. But these have to happen first with michigan roads being the way they are once the snow hits.
I would not under any circumstance replace the front Half Shafts with anything other than ACDelco. Last I checked, RockAuto has them. I bought my spares by patiently watching Ebay.
Costs more, but joy of cheap parts fades very quickly when you have to re-do the job or cause other damage because your shafts are too short and not built to the 2009+ H3 ACDelco shaft specs. Seen that too many times not to point that out. GM redesigned the half shafts mid production and the second design is thicker. Many of the el cheapo save a buck brands are not based on the second design and too short so that the shaft can pull out of the front diff just far enough to chew the living bajesus out of the splines against the differential pinion, bearing, seal...... whatever it comes in contact with.
Less of an issue if your front end is still low with the rake look and not adjusted upward via a T Bar adjustment and you do not wheel it.
Good luck.

I definitely agree. Do it right once. Saves more money than doing it twice.
Targeted advertising was making me consider the TRQ kit for ease but ill definitely be going ACdelco or otherwise then.
Much appreciated.

First and most important before installing a replacement cv axle shaft: MEASURE!
I always measure and compare extended, then measure and compare compressed!
Second, take a look at the warranty:
Acdelco: 24months
Trq: 120months
Cardone: Lifetime
