I have maybe it’s just a few millimeters pass the flare I tried to use a high pressure hose came on the few mm but no grip on it.

I’ll use the worm clamps right on top of the bulge of the hose on the flare for added piece of mind.

for those of you interested, this is what happened to the old hose:

Did you notice the braid? Enough to hold air in a football.

Threw the wormies on there just for safe measure. Will test drive it and beat on it here and there around the streets near the house in case anything fails. Thank you all for your help!

I spoke too soon. As I took it out for a test drive, I could feel the the transmission not working right. Not shifting properly (going into higher than usual rpm to shift). Felt like I wasn’t getting the power I should be.

Has the transmission decided to die on me?
Any diagnostic measures I should take to determine the root cause?

note: after adding the 1/4qt of dex VI, (since that’s all I needed to reach the “min” fill level on the dip stick), I shifted through all the gears to make sure the fluid was moving around.

After I stopped back at the house (1 min of driving later), I checked the fluid and it was still at the “low” spot.

one thing I need to re-check when I go home is if I was driving in 4-lo(I don’t think so).

Transmission fluid level check while running @ operating temperature.

I just checked, drove around for a few minutes, checked dip stick and it's still sitting at "low", if not a little bit higher than "low". Shifting was all out of wack, power delivery was poor, and sometimes RPM's ran super high before gear change.

"Low"? You need new glasses? Post a picture where it shows "low".
My indicator is marked "COLD" & "HOT"! Check @ Operating temperature, also has 2 holes (for the visually impaired) that show the full level (top hole=full). ADD MORE DEXVI, (a little at a time) UNTIL YOU GET THERE.

Great, that's an OEM indicator. Again, running @ operating temperature. Pull, wipe, insert, pull again , then check level.
If you need to add, wait for it to settle. You want to be here:

Thank you for your advice, I was definitely freaking out for no reason. I *Thought* that I had enough fluid, but I did not. I’ve put in about 4qt of ATF fluid into the transmission at this point and I think it still needs more. It’s driving a LOT better, I will have to continue to check it and make sure I fill it properly, but not overfill. I put 1.5qt initially while it was warm and it reached the first “hole”. Waited for it to settle and I drove it and checked again and the fluid level was back down again. Put in another 2.5qt, waited for it to settle, drove it, and it went back down to cold or lower again. Need to get more ATF fluid tomorrow and continue filling.

Thanks again, I’ll keep you guys updated.
