Default Transmission cooler

Looking for an alternative location for my trans cooler. I have a hard enough time keeping my tuck cool in the summer. I don’t want to put anything else in front of the radiator. I’ve tried everything to keep it cool. Water pump, thermostat, stock fan, fan clutch, CSF radiator, and dual electric fans with a shroud. I know 220 to 230 is not but it will hit 250 or better if I’m not watching it, the tans will get to 210 to 215. No leaky head gasket exhaust is not plugged installed my back pressure gage. So it’s driving me nuts which is a short drive.

Oh yeah it’s a 2008 H3 alpha.

BS........... he is in NV, coolant regularly runs 220F+ in the desert on hot days.

You could run a trans cooler mounted vertically mostly to the passenger side of the radiator out front if creative. Might help the trans, but not going to lower the coolant temp much. If you are still using e fans you might want to review CFM on the package. You also need to consider it the custom fan shroud slows driving air flow through the radiator.

Good luck.

Make sure you are not missing any of the baffles around the radiator and they are all properly installed. Any airflow around the radiator reduces cooling efficiency. Also, try adding Redline water wetter.

I’ve mounted a transmission cooler on the passenger side vertical before with no luck. One fan 2800 CFM the other is 3300. I’ve cut two hole in the shroud with flaps over them so they are closed at low speed and idle. The baffles are all in place and I’ve tried water water.

Do you have the engine and transmission cooling with totally separate systems. After I relegated the transmission cooling system to a dedicated one I noticed the trans and engine both cool better.
