Does anyone have a good sourcing or alternative on these?

My h3 is due for a new set, but i really dont want to gamble on a generic set of boots for 16mm.

I plan to switch my oem with the moog brand since they seem popular.

Any input greatly appreciated.

 

a whole new set of tie rods is like 20 bucks, why replace just the boot?

I plan to replace the tie rods, it didn't appear that the new ones come with new Boots.

I want to put new boots on the new rods and keep the Hummer looking clean and new

 

My new rods came with new boots, they are from Detroit axle

 

Replacing the inner or outer?

If you are buying quality tie rod inners like OEM ACDelco they will not come with the boot.

I wouldn't put anything Detroit Axle on my enemies vehicle, let alone risk the safety of my family. I have been to their facility and have seen their operation up close.
All I can say is STAY AWAY!

im doing both inner and outer, because i see no reason not to at $65 per side. I have significant play in my wheel and a thunk when turning past center from one side to the next. The rods currently appear to be the original and at 150k miles they are past their life.

I had planned on buying MOOG brand, since they seem to be popular. Open to suggestions from those who have replaced these prior. Though id love to shell out for the nice meaty 30mm rods its not feasible at the moment.

 

Some people like Moog, others do not.

Personally, I would go with ACDelco 16MM replacements and probably (I have not priced them) get them from RockAuto.

 

I looked at those, they are a good 20 and 40 more per inner/outer.

 

X2 - They lasted this long! Why not spend now to NOT SPEND AGAIN LATER.
