Temp gauge replacement?
My temp gauge hits just below mid point at about 185 degrees, then stops moving. At 225 degrees it's in the same position. The fact that my OBD scanner reads the temperature above where the gauge stops responding makes me think the sending unit must be working....it must be a bad gauge. Sound correct?
Can anyone offer any pointers/tips for replacing it? Not sure how the instrument cluster comes apart.

I would not assume the temp sender is operating correctly, it may have a bad connection at the instrument panel. Check the wiring and connectors.
Also keep in mind the dash temp gauge is NOT accurate. It is basically and idiot light with a needle.
The instrument cluster is one part, the whole thing including the temp gauge.
Good luck.

Did you ever get any info on removing the instrument cluster?
My old Avalanche temp gauge worked fine, It's just a crap gauge on our H3's. I suppose I'll get bored one day and figure it out but for now I have too many things going one.
