Default Sunroof Wont Close

I have a issue with my sunroof. My sunroof is in the down position like its ready to open and I cant close to make it stop from leaking when it rains. Is there a way I can manually close it? I can hear the opening and closing noise when I press the button but it don't move. I really need to get this closed up.

There has not been a manual closer on a GM sunroof in like forever.

You have to drop the headliner to get to the mechanism and inspect the plastic gear and motor. Somebody here did a sunroof repair and posted some pics.... please try a search.

quick question, Any idea if the sunroof motor is by the sunroof buttons or by the middle where the top center light is at?

The good thing is that when I press the sunroof buttom I hear it and I can read the auto open and close also. It just wont move so I'm thinking its the plastic gear.
