Default Sunroof operation

I have a 2006...today I noticed when I opened the sunroof, I had to hold the button down...it didnt automatically slide open, same thing with closing, the 'one-touch' operation is gone...and you have to hold the button down. also the button doesnt seem that responsive, you have to hold the button and it takes about a 1/2 second for the roof motor to start. anyone have this issue or can take a stab at what could be wrong?

The switch does nothing more then send a signal to the BCM. If the sunroof activates when you press the switch, I would say the switch is probably o.k. It could be a glich in the BCM programing/circuitry.

Not sure how much this helps, but a few years ago (4) I had a Chev Tahoe and had the same thing happen. There is a "programming" step the dealer did and the sun roof worked fine again. Later i found a thread on the steps to reset/reprogram it at home. Sadly, a few months later the sunroof motor failed and would not close at all. I just traded it in at that point.
