That's just it guys, I'm "grown man" enough to afford it, lol! And, I'll rarely pay more than 100 bucks to fix anything on that Benz if and when it needs something. Just so you know, it wasn't my intent to offend anyone with that "grown man's car" comment. My son is a grown man, and a Marine too. He'd love a truck like that. Lets just say he's not as "grown" as me. That Hummer is a young man's truck, or a truck for someone who likes to tinker with vehicles. That's not me. It was a fun truck to drive though.

Hey guys, i know i am kinda new still bit had this issue three times already and have finally figured it out. It wasn't the drain tubes alone nor the grommets or anything. There was a little crude in the rear right drain and i thought hat was filling my floor.... Wrong!!! When you pull the headliner and look at the drain cup hooked onto the rail your glass is on. This is where your rear drain is hooked. There is a little screw on too and it is tight. I had to use a bit and boxed end small wrench cuz nothing else would fit. Then you slide it out and be careful not to break The tab that is in the track. There is a seal in that cup that seals to the rails and mine was kinda mused on one end. I used divers aquatic seal after cleaning it and drying it and put it back together and stuck it up. Tested it and cleared the back tube no problem. If it happens again i qm gonna get my own bigger tubes and put all new drains myself. Screw gm. The screwed up on too much on this thing. But only enough i love it.
Sorry to hijacking yer three but it was the original topic. It drove me crazy trying to figure it out and had headliner out and everything else in the cab but dash and seats trying to find it.

Its a P.I.T.A. and takes about an hour to fix..... but mine hasnt been an issue since I cut the membrane out of the two grommets....
Prior to that, the damn thing dumped out with every rain.....

I cleared mine again today. But my problem is i can't get at the drivers side grommet cuz the stupid aftermarket e starter is right in the way. Can't get at it at all. But plan on just blowing some water through to keep hem clear. Tree spills and dirt are the usual culprits.

Does this sound like an issue with the drains to any of you?

It only does this when it rains, obviously..

I've had my '06 since June of '05, and never had any 'leaky roof' issues until 2010, and in the beginning only if we got a good drenching. Last summer (2011) I got caught driving in a downpour, and as I turned a hard left got soaked, and worse, to my amazement, I couldn't see through the windshield due to the headliner drain-action at the front by the windshield. Within 30 seconds, my overhead dome lights came on, and I got all kind of crazy notifications on my DIC. When I got home I vac'd it all out, and researched on this forum the problem, and blew out the front drains, and minimized my problem. I only get to drive it a few weekends a month as I am usually strapped to my work van, so I was as good at getting the other problems fixed as I should have been. Now my power door locks work from inside, but not with the remote (and I replaced batteries in both remotes). I am now working on fixing the problems, and have most of my interior gutted (not fun, by the way). The reason your wire will only go a few feet into the front drains is because GM ran a hard pipe up beside the A-pillar, and transitioned to a flexible hose just below the top of the windshield to the front corners of the sunroof, with the flexible hose going around the hard pipe, giving a hard transition facing upwards. I have fixed my hoses from ever coming apart again with the help of a few stainless steel hose clamps (only snugged up). I have cut the squeezed off ends at the bottom, and 'ported' them with a drill..I also JB Plasticwelded the other end beside the back seat belt-tensioners to the inner fender so in the future I won't have to remove the headliner, but rather access through inner fender for cleaning. Now I am down to 2 problems: I have been searching online for hours, and can find no source to replace my carpet ('06 Cashmere), and does anybody know which module controls both the ABS and Stabilitrak (DIC still complaining about both), and is that connected to the remote-door-lock feature? All the other electrical is good.... Sorry to be so long winded, but a little history goes a long way for anyone interested in potential solutions...

Oops, clarification. That transition is at the lower edge of the windshield, just above the dashboard.... Sorry.
