stock stereo, amplifier
I have a 09 h3, I'm wanting to replace the speakers, which all of them are bad. I have the stock stereo, with, pillar tweeters, front, and rear door speakers. I just signed up with sirus, awesome. I bought a stock amp. For h3, didn't know the amp mounted in the back of a h3. I don't want subs in back of h3. Just replace speakers, and add a amp. Can anyone help me with this problem. I have found old post on this subject, but nothing new. Thanks for your help. I will buy harness are what ever I need from you, are store to get a amp.
So............ which 2009 H3 do you have and which radio is in it. If you have the base stereo CD player, it has speaker level outputs to the speakers = not so good for your amp plan as you would want low level amp outs to the amp.
Scrap your amp idea, get an aftermarket head unit with built in amplification. The factory amp ain't that great, and a new amplified head unit will work better. Or, buy a new head unit and add a new amp, don't bother with the OEM amp you bought.
I replaced the door speakers in my 07 with base stereo after adding some dynamat to the doors and that alone is a significant improvement.
