More updates -

Sick of the chrome finish on the shifter bezel and radio face plate. Radio face plate was easy enough to sand down and tape off... of course the shifter bezel isnt removable from the top of the console. Sanded surfaces down, sprayed them stainless steel. Came out great. I also have unmolested factory pieces available.

The subwoofer and amp mounting looks awesome. I may cut out the plastic and throw a piece of plexiglass behind there. Sucks to have to cover it up.

Changed out the radio... again. This time (third) I got a Joying 2gb 5.1.1 unit. It works, and sounds great. Added the bass boost remote too.

Ordered color match spare tire cover. Last picture is a sneak peak while I wait for the 1" body lift, and tail light tint. Also got kicker battery terminal replacements with 0GA inputs, and a new hood release cable.

Decided to paint the shifter bezel... bought a whole new top console piece. Matches the new painted stainless radio faceplate perfectly.

Also finally got all the gay chrome tinted. Tail lights & side markers... look awesome now.

Put on color matched spare tire cover.

Also I have ALL my old parts for sale... see below

What do you do to keep the black plastic trim dark & black? Are they painted? Looks great!

Wow, all that time, outstanding effort and $ spent and no change to the spare tire to mimic the height of the new RIMz and tires. One of the biggest tell tale signs when looking at a rig if it is used OffRoad like it was intended.

The gray plastic around the bottom of the truck is painted. The upper plastic trims were wipe new-ed.

This is actually a budget build for me for a few month winter vehicle. I got the tires slightly used at a great price. Diddnt make logical sense to spend the extra $600+ on another spare wheel and new tire.

35.3" and a 32.8" spare would not be drive train/computer friendly in case of a flat. Maybe a few miles that's it.
You could pick up a used 315/75r16 for your existing 16" spare wheel. Most are around 34.7" tall. A lot closer to your 35.3".
I do hope you have tow coverage on your insurance, just in case of a flat.

As stated you before, glad to see someone taking the time and effort to save a green 06. Favorite color on a HUMMER.

The spare is just there for looks. Anything bigger than the 33" I have on there now wouldn't fit the cover.

I have 12x 100 mile tows a year with AAA, my own trailer and truck, and my best friend owns a tow company.

Thanks for the advice though
