Default security light question

Hi guys , i recently had the remote start installed and every time i used it the security light would stay on solid even when i put the key in the ignition and while driving . Turns out the remote start bypass was bad .They replaced it and now it seems fine when i use the remote start but after i lock the car and the security system is armed the light keeps on flashing . I owned the car for about 4 months maybe and haven't noticed this before . So basically after i lock the car using the factory remote the security light keeps flashing every few seconds or so . Is this normal or should the light be off when the car is locked and system is armed?? Any input is greatly appreciated
