The H2 can have side steps and rocker rails (they come standard on the H2). They do make some bolt on steps for the rocker rails on the H3 and are 2 steps per side and are gray. Steve

I have the oem rock rails and 2 bolt-on steps per side. The steps makea world of difference for me and others getting in and out of the truck and areeasy to takeoff for going off-road in tight trails.
First off-roadforayin the Alpha will be Columbus Day weekend- camping inthe Catskills with Dad, brother, nephews and cousins.

Here is my Slate Blue '07 with the oem rails and steps:

Thinking about a front hidden hitch and winch.

I have the OEM rock rails, put them on myself. If I had to do again I would have disconnected the brake cable, but I got them on without it but it was harder. I would also use those wrenches that have built in ratcheting rather than a standard wrench or standard socket wrench/socket.

Some of the spots were very tight but it was not really hard.

I also bought a set of the add on step ups because my wife is short. I only ordered one set of two. I was wondering if it would look awkward or bad but it really doesnt and it is two less step ups I have to take off when I go offroad.

I bought mine off ebay and saved around $50 or maybe a bit more. Search ebay by name and/or by part number. The part number is in the thread I made showing official GM parts.

If you get the GM ones, I would think you will like them. I am very satisfied with mine, they look nice and look like they will protect well.

Thanks Dawg. Now that almost all of that stuff has been transferred to my Boulder Gray, I'm almost ready to join you wheelin'. Moving into a house in Westfield - once all is settled, let's get together and you can teach me what these things can do and where they can do it.

Awesome Doc.... We would love to get you guys down here. My buddies are always going and Trey and his wife are two of the nicest people you will meet anywhere. I can easily see us having some serious fun next year.

Also.... I don't have the official date yet... but there is a forest cleanup sometime this fall. I know the Land Rover group we met is going to be there... 14+ trucks It would be nice to have a few of us there as well.

CCMDoc: Help me with a quick question. Hummerguy.net June, 2007:" The biggest exterior difference is the new front bumper, which is a light silver color. Hummer changed the design of the H3 front bumper to meet certain safety standards for frontal collisions. Right above the metal bumper, we noticed a newly designed mini grille. The new mini grille is designed to have more airflow to the engine area for cooling purposes. On a side note, the mini-grille lights are not compatible with the Alpha, due to them restricting airflow."

So what's up, you got the lights?????Factory option right??? Darn press releases.

Rock on rockrails!!!
