Default Replaced throttle position sensor

I replaced my throttle position sensors. The one on the peddal and the one on the throttle body because I was getting a reduced power indicator and read that may be the problem. That did not fix it. Do I have to program either one of those? If not would replacing the pcm be the next step? It's getting to the point this happens any time I try driving it so I need to get it fixed. Thanks for the help

How did you do that? Did you replace the Throttle Body or try to do just its sensor?

TB first, Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor last?

There is nothing to program, both are plug and play......

However, If you replaced both at the same time that can cause them both to be lost. Are you getting any CEL displayed, have you scanned for any codes?

Normally you do one, start the vehicle and let the new sensor sinc before shutting down and installing the other new item. Very important that once started, you let the vehicle idle for several minutes without touching the gas pedal.

Unfortunately, there are many possibilities that can lead to a reduced power mode, we are going to need more info. Let's start with year and miles, any recent work done, and how did the problem start.

Thanks for replying! Yes I replaced the whole throttle body not just the sensor. I also did then separately. I did the gas pedal first. Drive it for about a week. It didn't fix the problem so I did the throttle body. Seemed alright for a couple weeks then went back to the same way it was.

It's a 2006 h3 with about 190k

Default Problem fixed?

Jbrashers....did you ever get the problem resolved? I just bought a 2006 Hummer H3 for my son and have had it for about a month and today we got the “reduced power”message....looking for some clarity

Not yet. I have a new pcm on the way though. After replacing both throttle position sensors and still having the problem, I decided it was a matter of chasing a bunch of wires or ordering the pcm. I decided to try that first. The day after I ordered it, a new code came up p060e. This code is an internal fault in the pcm in the throttle position circuit. I think the new pcm will fix the problem. I just wish that code would've came up sooner. The new pcm gets in mid next week so I'll reply again to confirm once I get it installed

Hello again. I just got my new pcm installed. Drove it for about half a mile and my reduced power came back on. I have codes p060e, p2135, p9315 now. I am now at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My only thoughts as of now is a new wiring harness. The code p060e specifically says it is a pcm internal performance error so I'm not convinced that would fix it either...........

Default P2135

Hi all,

i have a 2007 Hummer H3 with about 140,000 miles on it. About 6 months back I was pulling 2 codes - p2135 and p0220. Resulting in low power mode. As a result I changed the throttle body and the gas pedal. We then took it to the dealer and had the system flashed. This fixed the probably and the truck ran great for about 6 months of daily use. I’m now pulling the p2136 code again resulting in low power mode. Do y’all have any thought?

thanks so much for your help!

Try wd40 on the connector to the throttle body. If it goes away for a few days, probably a faulty connection there...

Clean the Throttle Body with Throttle Body Cleaner and use quality gasoline ONLY. Also look at your air filter. When was the last time the air filter was changed??

Personally, IMHO WD40 is out date garbage. If you want to clean an electrical connection, use Electrical Contact Cleaner. Anyways, check the wiring to the TB for frays, cracks etc...
