Removing rear passenger seat cushion
I have lowered the back seats but the area is not flat but leaves a pretty big dip if trying to sleep very uncomfortable - want to remove rear seat (bottom/but) padding and hope when seat backs are fully lowered they will be even with trunk area
Put the front seats forward first. Release the bottom seat lock, lift up the seat pull it forward and set it back into the floor. Then fold down the rear seat. Owners manual dude! If it's still too high, remove the two nuts for each section of seat.
Moving the bottom seat forward and down per Wr3nche4d helps a lot, but still does not leave a perfectly flat area. Removing the entire bottom of the seat necessitates removing the seat backs as well, as they are one unit.
I end up taking the entire seat assembly out, removing the center nut and a torx bolts from the hinge. I did not cut the bottom plate in half like the video. Just bolted everything back without the left driver side half.
WOw, I searched the web up and down and couldn't find anything. How I came across this old azz thread (sorry Doc, I know how you feel about digging up old threads). I swear Google has been awful lately. Hummerz is a better source of information than Google 😂

What's the material you used in the picture with both seats removed? Is that foam of some sort? I saw a yt video on how to remove the rear seats and backs, and there's a dip where the bump would be when the rear seats are down normally. I want everything flat like in your picture. Thanks for the info.
