Default Removing rear passenger seat cushion

I have lowered the back seats but the area is not flat but leaves a pretty big dip if trying to sleep very uncomfortable - want to remove rear seat (bottom/but) padding and hope when seat backs are fully lowered they will be even with trunk area

Put the front seats forward first. Release the bottom seat lock, lift up the seat pull it forward and set it back into the floor. Then fold down the rear seat. Owners manual dude! If it's still too high, remove the two nuts for each section of seat.

Moving the bottom seat forward and down per Wr3nche4d helps a lot, but still does not leave a perfectly flat area. Removing the entire bottom of the seat necessitates removing the seat backs as well, as they are one unit.

Rear seats can be removed and are separate from the backs(4pc).

Removing both seats and backs you can do this:

Or you can also keep 1 seat installed:

How do you remove just half the back seat and keep the other one installed?

I end up taking the entire seat assembly out, removing the center nut and a torx bolts from the hinge. I did not cut the bottom plate in half like the video. Just bolted everything back without the left driver side half.

Nice work and DON'T ever cut the frame! Post a pic. Btw, this thread is not that old and you don't get the oldest thread necro bump award for the day when looking at the necro thread posters, it's like trying to communicate with dead people.

Here a few photos, bonus photo of the camp site. Getting rid of that left seat made a big difference in storage capacity and fits a single air mattress perfectly.

What's the material you used in the picture with both seats removed? Is that foam of some sort? I saw a yt video on how to remove the rear seats and backs, and there's a dip where the bump would be when the rear seats are down normally. I want everything flat like in your picture. Thanks for the info.
