Default H3 Rear seat back tear apart

Has anyone taken the rear seat back apart? Like take the 60 part off from the 40 part? Im thinking it has a rod that runs thru both from one side to the other but cant find a diagram of it on the web

My rear seats are in 3 pieces wrapped in the back of the garage, keep them out, and only reinstall when needed. Diagram for the backs:

no nonsense video showing removal and splitting the seats. Some cutting required.

So im guessing the seats cant be separated to remove one and add a new one back without destroying the rack. Guess ill check into how to just remove the cover and replace it and the pad.. thanks!

Yes, look at the diagram, the seat backs are bolted/attached to the hinge plate(hinge plate covers 25&36 to access the bolts). I plan on taking mine apart, will post pictures. Btw, there's a hinge plate UNCUT for sale on EBAY:::>>>2006-2010 Hummer H3 Rear Seat Lower Shield Cover Trim Panel OEM

Thanks a million hummerz, i got them apart and it was amazingly simple, the outside plastic cover has a phillips screw and one of those hateful clips, then under that is a single T45 star bolt, then popped the plastic cover in between the seats and removed the 15mm bolt and apart came the seats.

Nice work! I still haven't got to mine, 40 is enough enough for me, last 5yrs, I've only used the rear seat to take my grand kid to The Ohio Safari Park.

Bet those grandbabies loved that. Only reason im taking these apart is to replace the 60 since the one in there has a huge tear in the back cover and i found one in the junkyard that had just came in that was perfect. Only had this hummer for a couple month and been lucky enough to have access to 3 in the junkyard that were just wrecked for parts.
i need a full back seat as i have 2 grandsons that were born in 2020 and they want to go everywhere with mamaw & papaw lol

I'm Grandpa X2 via my 2 Daughters, 1 each. My GD (7/1/14) loves the animals, My GS(6/30/20) too young. If I ever need to take both at the same time, I will reconnect the seats.
