omigod that picture helps so much!! I still have hope for the rest of it. So do you recommend pulling it with hands or getting a flat instrument in "like a screwdriver" to get close to the plug and then lift up?

Yah I definitely pulled from the top plastic part not from under the white part. Lesson learned! Thx for the picture and helping out. I am sponging all of this and will apply it =)

Panel puller or whatever at right end under white part, then you can get your fingers under and pull up the rest of the way . That's how I just did it.

Pop & Pull, until you see a bolt or screw(remember those at the upper belt mount),

Curious if you tried pulling on the webbing as HARD AS YOU CAN, (don't worry, you won't break anything), to tighten it around the spool then release and see if it will extend. This will possibly let the pawl on the spool index just enough to release. Give it a try before removing the retractor....nothing to lose!

ok i will try that today when i get back into my truck. I was pulling on it pretty hard, tried a slow hard pull and also a snapping fast pull but I wasn't going with all my weight. I will give that a try. anything will be easier then disassembling the whole thing!

Hey Friend, go back and try again. A screw driver sometimes helps. Some folks use a bent screwdriver to pop out the plastic pop out rivets.

If you are unfamiliar ask a local gas station guy or mechanic for some help. Its not complex...
