Default Rear Door Jamb Switch

2006 H3 170,000 Miles
Recently decided to try and figure out whats going on with my rear "trunk" door jamb switch. All other doors on the H3 will trigger the dome and map light but the rear door will not. I've pulled the original switch to check for corrosion and ended up getting a replacement switch put in but still nothing. I will also add that this is not a dome light defeat switch issue and again all of the other door jamb switches function properly. does the rear switch operate on a different circuit? where should I go from here? All suggestions helpful, It's a pain finding gear in the back without a light.

I had to replace two door switches and the rear switch when I bought my '07. Other than the rear door connector being corroded and needing replacement (the pins broke when disconnecting the connector), the switch was the same and ultimately functioned the same as the door switches for me.
Maybe take a close look at the connector to ensure the pins are there and making good contact. The connector is available for replacement.

edit:
Regarding the switch, it is not a dedicated circuit, but rather is combined with the right rear door (at least on the '07)

Twice I had a door jamb switch fail. Rear door, I disconnected switch and cleaned the contacts on the switch and connector with CRC electronic contact cleaner, fixed. The passenger rear door, I tried the same, didn't work, so I took the switch apart and found 1 contact in the switch housing was green, cleaned internal contacts and put back together, fixed.
If it's a good new switch, check the connector/wiring. In the future before you purchase another switch, swap 1 from another working door.

Btw, there's only 6 parts to the switch, easy to take apart to clean contacts:

Thank you guys for the replies, upon further investigation the switch is good and the connector is seated well and pins corrosion free. I'm wondering if the problem lies somewhere else down the cable.

did you back probe check/power/ground to connector? If dead, pull the side panel between passenger rear door and check wiring.
