Default Questions about upgrading Subwoofer + Speakers in Hummer H3 2007

Hello all as the title says I own a 2007 Hummer H3, and I am wanting to upgrade the sub that is already in there and I am wanting to replace the speakers that are currently in there.

I already have this stereo as it came with the car when I purchased it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/in-...ers/xav-ax1000

So my question is what do i need to purchase to replace all of the speakers and the sub in the back. It would be amazing if I could put 2-3 subs below the second row seats in the back. Or if I could replace the default factory sub with something way more powerful and with a lot more bass. I know absolutely nothing about car audio and I am here to learn. My technology skills are extremely advanced. I just have absolutely no clue what to specifically buy. My end goal is to have great bass.

I would also like anything to be reputable branded. Preferably JBL, or Bose!

Thank you all so much. I am here to answer any questions.

I assume you are describing the H3 Monsoon stereo, that somebody already replaced the head unit with the Sony.

The factory sub is only 8" and that is as much as you are going to get in the factory enclosure box. You can upgrade that sub to a dual voice coil 2-ohm replacement like the Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD2-8 Shallow 8" Dual 2-ohm Subwoofer.... When you pull out the stock sub, remove the factory enclosure, Dynamat behind it, reinstall the enclosure, stuff it with poly-fil, then install the shallow replacement sub. The Rockford Fosgate above is a direct replacement, uses all the same screw holes as the factory sub. That will not rock out blinding bass, but it is a great improvement over stock. If you want more than that, you will have to build your own enclosure and forfeit cargo space.

I have a JL Audio Stealthbox in the stock location. Again, it's not going to annoy your neighbors but a great improvement over stock. It does take up that entire location though, so you'll need to run a different amp.

If I ever determine that my Hummer is beyond hope I will sell that, but I'm not quite there yet.

Howdy just a tad more info for you, I took the stock box out removed the factory sub and add 1 cup of water at a time until it was full.

I got a total of 42 cups in the factory box a cubic foot of water is 119. Cups
 42/119 = .35 cubic feet of space

If you crafty I think it would be easy to cut the box and fiberglass some more space . So you can use the factory mount locations

if you have the cash I know Focal has some 10" subs that work within that volume .

I have a kenwood execelon with the Apple play and back up camera. Then I replaced all the speakers I have Sony 6 1/2 4 way in the front , kicker 61/2 2 way in back then kicker 8inch shallow mount also just recently did the tweeters with kicker tweeters. Which I had to cut out the opening a little bit bigger and got luck my the fit snug. I am still using the monsoon amp and about 30 volume I am blowing my ears up.

You must realize you will NEVER get earth shattering bass from the stock Monsoon system. Also, NO you can not put sub-woofers under the folding rear seats. No Room.
Please, also learn to use the SEARCH function at the top of every page on this forum. "technology skills are extremely advanced"

1. Ditch that Krappy Azz Sony (they make much better) head unit. Had the exact one in my wife's H3T when we bought it and it sucked giant donkey ballz! Couldn't see the display during the day. Replaced it with
Alpine iLX-W650 7 Alpine iLX-W650 7" Mech-Less Receiver Compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

2. Buy a decent head unit. If you start off with Krappy components you will end up with Krappy sound.
3. Buy some nice 6.5 or 6.75" components for the front and the SAME brand and model but in a coaxial (some call them 2-ways & 3-ways) for the rear.
A. JBL GTO609C Premium 6.5-Inch Component Speaker System

4. Replace the sub-woofer with a shallow 8" 2 Ohm DVC (Dual Voice Coil). People have had good luck with the following
A. Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 8-inch Shallow-Mount Subwoofer with 600 Watts Max Power
https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-SW2002D2-8-inch-Shallow-Mount-Subwoofer/dp/B00JQTU434/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Pioneer+TS-A2000LD2&qid=1594208178&s=electronics&sr=1-2 https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-SW2002D2-8-inch-Shallow-Mount-Subwoofer/dp/B00JQTU434/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Pioneer+TS-A2000LD2&qid=1594208178&s=electronics&sr=1-2

1. If you want EARTH SHATTERING & EAR SPLITTING BASS and don't care at all about sound quality. Keep the krappy head, install 2 krappy 6.5" 3-ways in the front doors, forget the rear doors you ain't gunna hear them anyway. Put a giant azz bridged 1 Ohm stable amplifier in the rear attached to 1/0 welding cable to the battery to a HUGE 6-7 Ft^3 Ported sub-woofer box with TWO - DVC 4 Ohm 18s and call it a day.
