Default Question on exhaust manifold

I have a 2008 H3 5 cyl. It is currently in the shop to get a cracked exhaust manifold replaced. I have a Car-Shield policy on it, and was told last Friday that the manifold was covered, but today was told that because the catalytic is connected to the (one piece) it is not covered.
It seems like Car-shield has a lot of bad reviews, in fact there is a class action suit against them.
Any info would be appreciated.

That is why I never buy any extended warranty. It's a money maker for the seller and the warranty company, doesn't do chit for the owner of the car. Best practice is just fix anything that breaks by yourself, you are only out the parts cost and some time.

The I5 Exhaust Manifold does have a built in Pup Cat, have no idea what Car-Shield says about covered/not covered.

Good luck.

Last Friday they told me it was covered, today (Tues) they said no. The manifold is covered but the cat converter is not. Well the manifold and cat are one piece not two. It would help if the person I spoke with could speak proper English.

Read your "ripoff" extended warranty contract! 3.7 manifold/cat AM are around $200.00 and easy to install. How much you paying for car shield $150.00month?

Your mechanic should have expected a broken bolt when removing the old Exhaust Manifold. It is a PITA to remove them once they break, but never had one get the better of me.

I guessing the person you spoke to Friday did not know the H3 has a Pup Cat built into the Exhaust Manifold, but they later figured it out and now they are the wiser keeping your warranty $$.
