Default Question about Tire and wheels

Hi guys I apologized for this question that might sound pretty newbie to you but to be honest I am as far as this stuff is concerned.

My 08 H3 is currently on a 305 45 22 Tires, now I plan to get more rubber and get the OEM 265 65 18...

Can I just purchase an OEM tires and keep the wheels on it???

Thanks a lot for your input.

You can't put a 265 65 18 tire on a 22 inch wheel. You can only put that on an 18 inch wheel.

Last number of the tires will always be the rim size.

In your case as stated; 18 is for 18 inch rims only.

A 265/65/18 tire will be SMALLER diameter by about 1.3" than the 305/45/22 tires you have now.
You have about a 33" tire now.

Are you trying to keep your 22" rims?
How big of a tire diameter do you want to go to?
Once you tell us that, then we can suggest a tire size for you.

without a lift you will struggle to get any more tire as right now you are running what equates to a 33" tire on an h3. With a leveling kit you can run up to a 35" tire.

False on both counts.

You can get a 35" tire on an stock H3 with no problem, even without "leveling".

And you don't need a "leveling kit". You can just adjust the torsion bars to level an H3, no extra hardware needed.

Dude the best I can find is a 305/50R/22 from Toyo they say it's an all terrain tyre and it's 34" tall.

I have a torsion bar adjusted and my H3 was leveled nicely.

All I need to know is using my current 22" Rim I wanted to shift from low profile tire to a more rubber ones...so which TIRE can you recommend.

Thanks so much to all who responds....
