Default Production Numbers

Rather than try and revive old threads, I thought I'd take some advice and for starting a new one.
So, we have this recently bought 2008 H3 for my wife's ride.
Not only is it an Alpha, but an H3x as well, so I'm inclined to believe that it's a rare beast and for being in excellent condition as well with 117K miles on it.
Given all this, how rare might it be, along with any of you personally knowing of another one that might be out there?
Ours is a non-metallic bright red by the way.

Evidently, these are rare and almost non-existent in that combo!
It seems that not many H3x units with the I5 engine were ever produced either.
Reaching out to GM, hasn't really produced much and for only saying.....Our archive records indicate the following volumes:

2008 LH8 V8 6,878

2009 LH8 V8 3,264

2010 LH9 V8 1,057

We do not have any breakouts of the H3X option volumes.

And now, the red brake calipers show up as an OEM as well.
Well, again, it's looking more and more like we have every option that was available in 2008 all rolled into one.
What do you all think?
Your truck is not a Championship Edition, they were all Silver. A prior owner either painted your calipers or swapped them out. Another possibility is somebody swapped on your chrome 18" wheels.

You have no Off Road Package either, but it is still a nice truck.

And I think you are digging up an OLD THREAD.

May I then continue with this somewhat with my present thread.?
Again, good to know and any and all info is appreciated.
As for being an H3x, the tire info stickers are inside the door frame as well.
The grille matches the body paint.
The brush guard is square bars and chrome.
I gotta wonder about these color offerings in certain models though, since H3x's supposedly came in only two metallic colors, neither of which is a bright red or for being metallic for ours.
And yes to the question of it having rear lockers. Both high and low.

Look, I am not trying to bust your chops, but you are operating on a misunderstanding. This is a pic of your T Case controls you posted a while back in your Thread 2008 H3 Production numbers

This pic shows you do NOT have any Rear Locker. The Hi, Hi Lock and Lo Lock is your T Case controls, has nothing to do with a rear locker. The locker would have another button on the right side to the left of your Traction Control switch (with the squiggly rear tire marks) and look like this for 08 or prior.

That is all I was trying to get you to understand. Your Alpha has the standard 4:1 T Case with no rear locker ie. no adventure/off road package. That's all. Hope you get what I was saying now. You appear to want to explore what exactly you have, I hope you now have a better understanding. Otherwise you have an unusual H3 Alpha.

There is also the possibility it has the 18" wheels and Rear Tire Carrier ... yada yada...because some prior owner or dealer liked to make it that way.

We have seen dealer made Tactical Edition look a likes, they just stuck on a badge, black wheels and the Tactical Rear Tire cover making it look like one etc. The Vin tells the story. Get one of those Vin# decoders and check out what it says and let us know.

Main thing is, enjoy your Alpha, you found a nice one.

What does the tire size on the door sticker say? Easiest way to tell.
265/75R16 = H3 Non Adventuree / OffRoad
285/75R16 = H3 Adventuree / OffRoad
265/65R18 = H3X

OK, my bad, was confused by the padlock icons and for thinking that a button on the right meant that it had front wheel lockers as well..
Don't know why the glove box door is missing it's sticker if it ever had one and without any evidence of one ever being there.
And I've tried some VIN decoders without success and for sending the VIN to GM for decoding, as well.
If it might be an H3x copy, somebody went to a lot of trouble and spent a lot of money. Just too bad that the H3x badges weren't on the 2008 models from what I understand.
As for finding a nice one, I thought so too, but at a cost of $14K, rather than for diddling around too much and for maybe losing it.
The good news is that it's required very little and not only sounds good, but runs good and doesn't use oil.

Well that should tell us it was an H3X Alpha, with the 18" chrome wheels, tire carrier, front matching grill and the special chrome grill guard. Where the red calipers came from, who knows????

I'm in agreement with all of this, with what I've been finding out thus far.
