Not sure if there is a right or wrong just my .02 2008 Alpha.
How much better mpg did you get? I should have my Superchips unit here today too.

Very little about 1gl but the truck came to life and that made it worth it to me.

It appears that Superchips is not available for the I5. So, if PCMtuneforless is the "shizzle" then I would expect noticeable gains in driveability, towing and overall performance. Would that be a correct assumption? Also, they claim you may get 1-3 mpg improvement. That should would make it easier to justify. Can anyone confirm that is valid?

"Noticeable" is relative, you'll for sure notice a change in your shift firmness, and perhaps more get up and go, but don't expect a miracle for $150 without changing any parts. If you're looking to get the most out of your exhuast, CAI, high flow filter, etc then by all means go with PCMFORLESS.

You may see a MPG difference, some don't. Broken Halo claims he did not see any on his H3 Alpha. If you're expecting REAL "noticeable" changes then you better go with some head work instead.

That being said, if you installed an air doc, exhaust, aftermarket filter, and threw in a tuned PCM all at once and then went around the block then yes, you would notice a difference.

Draketh, thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I was looking for. I am not interested in head work or changing major parts; it's not a hot rod engine nor did I buy it to be one. I am pretty satisfied with it's performance now but if I can do a few basic things such as you mention and it makes a difference then why not? I also obviously didn't buy it to save big money on fuel but I traded in a Grand Cherokee that got about the same. So if I can make a few changes and maybe increase the mileage some that's a good thing too. I guess I'd just like it to run as well and perform to it's capacity.

I just installed my new PCM/TCM from PCMForLess and I love it. The car drives much better. The shift firmness is great and it seems to accelerate a bit better. I have a Volant CAI and performance exhaust so I think the tuned it to take advantage of that also. IMHO PCMForLess is great b/c you don't have to guess at what parameters to set and what to leave. They know what works and are the experts.

You will find the PCMforless tune to be one of the best bang for the buck perfomance mods. When you finally do it, you will ask yourself why you waited so long.

If you intend to do an intake and CAT back, you really should do those first and add that into your tune when you order. I also have the PCMforless E Fan conversion, another great mod with a solid MPG improvement of 1+ accross the board. Likewise, if you have an 08 or later, you want to do the E Fan patch if you intend to later add it. They will always re-tune it for you, but you have to pay shipping back and forth.

If you go to this order sheet you will see what variables you can add in to your tune, PCMforless.com

Check out the intake drill down list, PCMforless knows the K&N and the AirDoc, but you can specify others.

Will the E Fan Patch be 'transparent' until one is eventually installed? What does the patch do with the E Fan.....control on/off with temperature input?

Broken Halo,

Yes the E Fan patch is transparent until isntalled. I asked to have it w/my tune in case I want to get one later on.

Blue Rino,

I have the GM Performance CAT Back Exhaust.
