I would guess that the wire harness to the sensor has been compromised in some fashion before saying it is oil viscosity. I have a friend who's engineer father retired from Mobil, viscosity in their synthetic is more marketing than differences of the content in their containers.

I was making sure of two things: 1) you are using a quality Oil Filter, and 2) if this problem started after the last Oil Change. You have a god quality brand, but any man made part can be defective. I take it this is a recent problem and after your last oil change?

yes it’s recent even after the oil change but it didn’t do oil change like recently recently it was running fine until I hauled that trailer on a hot day then it start happening , I noticed that the plug wiring inside that was plugged to the sensor had oil in it but I sprayed it with the electronic cleaner and replaced the sensor but it didn’t fix it so I ordered a new wire harness and I am gonna cut and rewire it and hopefully that fix the problem and also I am gonna do a fresh oil change and oil filter after as well.

I will , let me know how that goes I didn’t do any oil pressure cus it only happen when I am at idle not while driving so I don’t think it’s oil pressure . But hope that fixes it I am waiting for the harness

Niethwr has an Aloha. The the other guy with oil pressure issues has the 3.5 and this OP has the 3.7. So same motor and sounds like the same issue.

You picked up on that, good catch. It was a sarcastic way of saying "How the F... do we know what you are talking about when you do not include Year, Model, and Miles when asking any question?"

Yet it happens over an over like we somehow know all about what they are driving. The OP here did include the pertinent info, Miilertime045 NOT.

Oil level is good, oil is relatively fresh, sensor replaced, only happens when oil is hot and engine is at idle... Is it just me that is thinking that either the engine is worn or the oil pump is worn? I understand that it is fairly low miles (116K), but...

Oil pressure is always lower at idle than while driving. It just seems to me like the system is doing exactly what it's supposed to; warning you of a low oil pressure condition. Checking the actual oil pressure with a gauge will either confirm or rule out the most obvious problem.

Default Update

So I changed the harness that goes to the sensor and solder it with a new ac Delco harness, changed the oil pressure sensor and did oil change with full synthetic mobile one and oil filter and it still does it . It only happen also when the engine is hot and idle . If I drive it goes away, it I stop at idle it does it. Any other suggestions on what to do or how to fix this damn problem? I tan out of all ideas

Engine sound normal at startup/running/operating temp? What's the oil pressure reading at idle?

Hi NFS, one thought ... when you changed the sensor, did you check if there is a screen filter inside the hole where it goes? If it has one you should pull that out an make sure it's clean or replaced. This could reduce flow on idle.

FYI - I'm working on solving the opposite issue, sensor harness was torn off, and I'm getting no reading that sensor is missing.
