Default No start no crank when engine is warm

My some has a 2006 H3. It was turning off when shifting from park to a gear. Replaced the pass lock sensor on the ignition and the issue was resolved. Months later a new issue arose where after running the engine long enough to get warm (15+ minites) when you turn the vehicle off it will immediately restart. If you let it sit for 5 minutes it won't start for a couple hours. Light come on and radio works but no crank. The starter had been sounding week so we replaced it thinking that might be the issue. No change. Cleaned the connection to the pass lock sensor, no change. Has a newer battery. I noticed a very similar thread on here from 2019 that seemed to not get resolved. Was going to change the terminals next but wanted advice first. Also, is it necessary to change the cables too?

The battery cables themselves are not the issue. The Battery Terminal Connectors are the issue always, every time, without doubt, and will continue to be the problem until hacked off and replaced with a quality aftermarket set.

Can we assume the Battery is fully charged?

You need a new meter too!

12.6 volts

With the engine off, the fully charged battery voltage will measure 12.6 volts. This is known as “resting voltage.”
