Default New battery. Radio won't turn on

Hello I recently installed a new battery and after reconnecting the cables the radio does not work. The Display for time does turn on and off and when putting in a cd it loads but will not play. I have no display for Radio or stations. I was wondering if I need to reprogram the radio?

Disconnect the battery, wait at least 30 seconds, reconnect the battery, ground first.

BTW, does your truck still have the OEM Battery Terminal connectors????

If it does, they are complete CRAP, get rid of them and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. There are gobs of threads on the topic of the need for aftermarket battery terminal connectors to replace the POS OEMs. It is not a matter of if, but when, they fail. Once replaced, the electrical Gremlins will pack up and look for the next dope with stock battery terminal connectors.

I had that problem too when I changed batteries.
If the remove negative terminal for 30+ minutes doesnt work (it worked for me), get new battery terminals. Hummers can have possessed like electrical issues from lousy battery terminals.

batt in/out no problem.
when working on a 2 batt setup i unhooked the batt 10-15 times , never once had any problem of any kind, nothing
i have a disconnect now and can use it anytime with no trouble.
the radio is just a radio!!
