Low tire indicator will not go off
Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum.
i am looking for some help with my Low tire indicator not going off. I have a 2010 Hummer H3. While I was driving the other day the Low tire indicator came on. I was close to my local Goodyear tire store where I do business. They checked my tires and the drivers front tire was low. They found that the valve stem was leaking and made the repair. Now the low tire indicator will not go out. They relearned the system multiple times. The machine shows that all 4 monitors are transmitting. As well all 4 monitors are transmitting the correct pressure. I have also tried to relearn the system manually. All four TPM’S sound the horn as per the instructions in the owners manual, still the light will not go out. As a last resort I disconnected the battery to reset the fault. After about 1 minute of driving the low tire light came back on. The guys at the tire shop have no idea why this is happening, I am hoping to avoid going to my local GM Dealer and paying big bucks . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to HF. I MOVED this thread to the H3 section where all H3 tech questions belong. Feel free to introduce yourself in the New Member Section if you like.
Not enough information for a completely accurate answer. How old are your sensors? What brand are they? How long have you had the truck? The TPMS spec for life of the battery in the sensors is 10 years, your truck is obviously older than that. Off brand cheepos do not perform well. Stick with ACDelco direct replacements.
The light will not go out just because you relearned the offending sensor, it would take possibly several miles for it to confirm the connection. The batteries transmit while rotating, not standing still. A TPMS tool can ping a stationary sensor to elicit a short response, but if your batteries are near dead, driving will likely cause the signal from a weak battery to die out and then you get the warning. Inflation should be all four at 38PSI to rule out errors.

Hi Doc
Thanks for the info. My Hummer H3 is a 2010. I have owned it for 4 years. The tire pressure monitors are AC Delco. I have not replaced any and am assuming that they are factory originals. I am running Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs ( 285/75R16 ) on American Racing AR893 Mainline Chrome Rims. I am also running them at 38psi. The guys at the tire shop were adamant that the sensors were working because their machine showed the tire pressure. What you say makes perfect sense, that their machine is pinging the sensor and getting a reading. Im sure that one or more sensors have a low battery considering that they are probably original. I will get all 4 changed and see what happens. Thanks again.

Get a small tire pressure dial at a local auto store and check the tire pressure yourself. Idk about you, but I have a hard time trusting any mechanic, let alone some knuckle head at a tire shop.
Had similar issue after getting new tires installed. Took it back the first time, they just topped it off and sent me on the way. End up being a leaky valve stem in one of the tires. Deflated the tire and replaced the stem.
