Hummer H3 For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.

Looking at getting another hummer is this one an ok deal?

Tons of H3s in our area. You want to buy from a private seller who has taken care of it, NOT a dealer.
Check Bookface (facebook) Market Place, put in Hummer H3, set your radius, years, mileage, etc.

Just bought an h3 with 88k miles, leather, and its pretty much flawless inside. It’s a 2006, Drives really nice and firm. Got about $7k in it. These czar dealers think that jacking up the price will make it more valuable. However when dealing in a vehicle that is no longer in production, you can work a great deal with cash in had. The seller of mine wanted 10500. I was already going to buy an h3 that day had 3 different locations to visit. Dealer 1 had an immaculate 08 with 43k miles but wanted 20k...... NOPE!. That salesman called me while I testing driving at dealer number 2 and was literally begging me to buy his at a lower price. When I made it clear that someone was going sell me an H3 today for a good deal and that I didn’t care who it was, that’s when they wanted to really sell and dealer #2 was not about to let me walk off the lot. Cash is always candy in car deals, it makes the paperwork quick and easy and all the dealer really needs to do is make sure they are making a little margin. I know the H3 very well, its easy to find one that some kid hasn’t tried to take off-road and show off to his friends. If one your thinking of buying has loose steering and noisy on the road or with a nasty undercoat, I’d stay away from that. My recent H3 came from up north and has extremely minimal rust only around the towing hitch. Check the air filter, people who don’t care for their cars as you do, do not change the air filter. Always change the oil on day one of purchase or soon after, don’t trust anyone’s word. Check the tires, people who really cant afford the upkeep on any car will ALWAYS buy cheap tires. Don’t worry about missing key fob remotes or simple things that cost $20 to fix. Don’t be turned away by torn leather seat if the car is in great shape. A complete seat of leather OEM style seat leather is about $400 and that’s a amazing price. Happy hunting.

You don't have to worry, there isn't anyone that would give you that for it. KBB says its worth between $8-10K. That is "excellent" condition (which is less than 3% of all vehicles for sale by private parties) and 91K miles.

You can buy 2007s every day with leather in that price range if distance is not an issue. Maybe a couple bucks more with the off road pkg.

Does KBB take into account of the history of maintenance performed? @90k, 30x syn oil change, 3x syn trans fluid change, 2x syn diffs/tc oil change, 2x dexcool change. 2x spark plug change, 2x brake fluid change, 2x ps fluid change, etc..
I can but will not sell for $13k, since a new close replacement would set me back $60k!
Btw, KBB uses selling price history as a platform.

Yes it does, hence the "Excellent Condition". You want a real shocker, look at whet they are selling at auction for. Most dealers are paying 15% to 20% less than KBB. My friend has his brokers license in NJ and about 6 months ago we looked at what they were selling for at the NADE Auto Auction. Very eye opening. Didn't see any selling for more than $8400. Some with only 70-80K miles on them.
BTW, replacement cost doesn't come into pay unless it's what it is worth to you. You'll never get $13K unless they are a real sucker.

What people are asking for them on a hope and a prayer, is entirely a different reality than what they actually sell for. In different areas of the country there are different purchase price expectations. I was looking on CL last week for the Detroit area. Ain't nobody gonna pay $9,500K for an I5. There is still some clown that throws his 08 on there every couple weeks asking $12,900 for the last 6-8 months. He still owns it, and probably will for a long, long time at that ask.

I get the whole.... well it's worth that to me, and to a certain extent I agree that if it has been your truck since new, your knowledge of the vehicle's true condition and maintenance is worth something. As a buyer, I'm not gonna pay any seller for what they think.

Same truck with 85K miles as last time.
