Hummer H3For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.
Quick side note. There is a 2007 H2-H for sale at a dealer near me. Victory red, black interior, 104.000 miles. Spare tire on back that swings out. $27,500. If anyone needs it, send me $35,000 and I drive it to you. Maybe $40,000 as I will need the extra for gas. After all, what is a good Hummer Forum member good for. if not to screw/ help another member.
I wouldn't buy it unless it had a FULL tank to start(32gallons)!
339mile drive(330 miles highway) @12mpg Highway=28.25 gallons.
So I would only need to spend around $150 for a 1-way plane ticket.
Huh. I see. Good to know the mileage on a H2. I never will own one. Can't afford the H3 Alpha mpg. How ever tomorrow I'm taking on a 100 mile trip, 50 each way on big road to get a true mpg. I get 14 around local. Anyone want to guess? I hoping at lease 18 or 19.

Alpha? Not gonna happen! 16mpg tested @ curb weight, NO payload!
Drop a thousand pounds+, check all 4 wheels for a brake drag, pump the tires to 38psi, etc. then you may get 18mpg? I removed my rear seats & spare, brakes fully release properly, air pressures @38psi, engine running perfect, transmission shifts at proper points. When driving without a payload(passengers/cargo) I can get 18+mpg highway on my I5.
Tires at 38psi, No drag on any wheels. Not going to remove seats or spare tire. Just little me, 6' 210 lbs. 70 mph for the test. Will post what I get.
I'm 6'1"220lbs, filled with beer. To be accurate: FILL TANK, drive your 100 miles, REFILL TANKto calculate; Miles/Gallons to refill.
e.g.: 100miles driven/6.25 gallons to refill=16mpg
