7.19 HP with the hood open? Weak. I like K&N filters, but for an off road truck, an open filter intake design is not the best choice IMO.

GM gets youa plastichromed pipe and a shiny aluminum box lid, and does NOTHING with the pie hole restriction, and costs ya nearly $400.00.
GM does not even have an 08 model yet? [&o]

There is a third alternative.

Crud....I forgot my manners. Welcome to the forums!!!!

I can't speak to the efficacy of other intakes, but I am quite pleased with my AirDoc intake.

Several things set it apart from the rest in my opinion:

It's fit and finish are great. (The construction is actually a bit overkill, but so is a HUMMER)

It addresses the restrictive fenderwell/snorkel issue by increasing the size of the air inlet.

It also allows you to retain your stock breather box. (very important if you wheel your rig at all)

......and finally, you choose the filter that is right for you.

At $149.00........It aint a bad bang for the buck. ( http://airdocintakes.com/product%20one.htm )

I'm using it in conjunction with a PCMsforless tune and the two work great in tandem.

Just my two cents......Let us know what you decide on.
