Default Ignition coils

Well, my mechanic friend who ran the code says I need new ignition coil, so I’m gonna buy all five. Where’s the best place to purchase these? Also, what is the best OEM spark plugs?

Welcome to HF. MOVED this to the H3 section where all H3 question go. Please do not report a post with an answer/explanation. Simply REPLY in your thread.

The best oem spark plugs for the I5s is listed in the owners manual. If you don’t have one they are online free for the reading. ACDelco whatever the part number is as stated in the manual or its newer superseding number is. Please feel free to look that up. Best place to buy is online from any GM parts supplier.

RockAuto often has the best prices.

HF - if you got that much extra cash to throw away just go down to toys-for-tots and make a donation already!

Seriously, *if* its a bad coil then isolate which coil is for sure bad then replace just that one. You can do this by swapping the "offending" coil with a different one and seeing if the code follows the coil or stays with the cylinder. Like other's said, what code did the mechanic see?
