Default Humner OEM roof lights

Hi all,

I have a 2006 Hummer H3 luxury and has started the process prototyping new roof mounted oem style led lights and wanted to gauge interest. Thanks

"Humner"? Never heard of that brand? I've heard of Humber that defunct in 1967, even back then, there was never a need for roof lights.

It's a good idea. Demand, that's another thing and would be related to cost.

Good luck. Perhaps you could improve upon the OEM roof top lights, their first design created a wind vibration noise that would drive most people crazy. Causing a second design by GM. Make yours the third..... third time is the charm.

You might want to design it around something other then the Hummer O.E.M. roof lamp assemblies. Those are the same lamps used in the O.E.M. off road grille lamp option. A rock broke the lens of one of mine and I couldn't buy just the lens. The entire single lamp assembly was $120!
So, you'd be looking at $240 just for the lamps plus the cost of your housing. You'd be better off getting an 'up to date' LED roof mounted fixture....just something to consider before investing a lot of time and money.

My roof lamps both got damaged during a car wash. I had the lamp covers on and someone accidentally pressed the button while cleaning the interior. I only found out when I came to pick it up, covers were melted and the glass/plastic broke!
Anyway, lased designs make an adapter for KC LED lights to fit there. The idea is neat but the lights themselves are expensive.
another thing to keep in mind is liability. Those lights get alot of wind resistance and even the oem lights are not prone to suddenly breaking off and flying (much like the front louver) and those are bolted down with rivnuts!
