Default Hummer H3 weather seal

I recently got a 2006 hummer h3. The weather seal by the treshold on the drivers side is torn. I wanted to replace or fix the weather stripping but the only way I found to obtain the part was by buying the whole rocker molding which cost $200. I was wondering if anyone had a cheaper solution. I would rather not spend $200 just to replace a weather seal.

I would lay it down carefully and get it as closed as possible and lay a bead of GOOP or E600 along the seem and maybe with some weights of some sort to hold it in place.. Then when that cures, lay a larger bead against the rip. It would be great if you could lay a bead of E6000 on the lower edge of the rip and close the seam as you push the trim back into place carefully. Maybe even lay a few books on top if you need to get the rip to close up. The bead the outside later as a re-enforcement. E600 is tuff stuff!! Just one idea.

black silicon can also repair tears. you can bridge the space or tear with it then put a piece of painters tape oner the mended area. let it cure and done. the better you conform the repair the better the end result.
