how to check if the R78 or similar fuses are blown
hello!
how do i check if my bigger fuses are blown or not? sometimes my 06' H3 does not start when i am trying to even though it cranks and turns but doesn't seem to start so i wait about 10 minutes and then it starts no problem, but now after waiting the 10 mins my driver side window wont work but all other windows work from their respective switches and the driver side panel also the unlock and lock switches don't work on both the passenger and driver side, i want to check if i have any blown fuses for the respective issues but one of them is the big square one and i don't really know how to check if its blown or not. if anyone could help it would be appreciated as i am new to working and self diagnosing my car and if anyone might have an idea if it isn't from my fuses id love to know.
thanks in advance!
I MOVED your Threads because it aske that you NOT post anything in the FAQ sections, especially just because you as a newb though up a question.
It is not fuses or breakers. Are you still trying to use the Crappy Azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? From your symptoms, I bet you are. The First Mod to be done to every H3/H3T is to cut off the OEM Battery Terminal Connectors and replace with a set of Stingers or your favorite aftermarket brand. Look it up yourself.

The no-start issue is likely the pass-lock circuit. There are a bunch of posts here about using CRC cleaner to clean the electrical connectors for the pass lock sensor in the steering column. It is not likely to be relay, but if you really want to check a relay just swap it with another one in the fuse box and see if the problem moves to the circuit you swapped it to.
For the door locks check fuse 6 in the fuse box. For the driver window, check fuse 68.
To check a fuse just pull the fuse and inspect to make sure the fuse link is still visible and not open. Some of the bigger fuses have clear tops and you can inspect them without removing them.
If the fuses are good both the door lock and window issue can be caused by a bad driver door lock and window switch unit in the drivers door. All the door locks are energized from this switch unit, and the driver window is also energized from this unit. Careful of the cheap ones on ebay/amazon as a lot of them don't work out of the box. Go OEM or a reputable aftermarket part from a parts store.
