Default Help with reattaching the rear fender on a H3

Hello All- I have a 2009 Hummer H3 that I had a deer run into the drivers side rear fender and break off several of the white plastic mounting clips that attach the fender to the rear passenger door. I went on Amazon and got the correct GM white mounting clips and removed the fender panel, cleaned everything up, and replaced the clips, but for some reason, I cannot get the clips to fully insert into the holes on the vehicle body and "snap into place". Do I need to bend the clip mounting strip slightly "proud- sticking out" to get the clips to engage properly, and securely hold the fender in place? Or is there a special "trick" I need to know to get it to attach in place? I checked my new clips and they are an exact match to the original ones on the Hummer. Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to HF. MOVED your thread as ALL H3 questions go in the .................................................. ..................... that's right............................................. ....H3 Section.

The fenders just pop on. They do not use the "smart clips" that attach themselves while you watch, you have to put some serious effort into it and a quick firm push, almost like pounding on the flare at each clip location with the heal of your hand.

maybe you forgetting to put the rubber filler that goes between the plasic panel and the main body? (thin one, to avoid the friction)
