Just got car back from shop drove it about 45 mins at stop light the oil and little oil light comes on i take off it goes away I stop it comes back on again no clue what’s going on? Yes I changed the oil sending unit stilll happens and fresh oil change not even 1000 miles I’m lost

 

something bad in sending system (sending unit, wireing, plug, blockage...)
oring on oil pick up tube at pump?
inspect/change sending unit again (same thing happen to me and it was a bad/new sending unit).

My oil pressure was so erratic, the problem looked electrical, so I made sure the top of the motor was getting oiled and continued on...The oil light dinging does creep a guy out.

 

The FIRST thing to do is CHECK THE OIL LEVEL. If it is full, then look further and you won't be lost.

 

oil level fine how low does it have to be set off sensor?

 

If there are no extraneous sounds from the engine, then it is better to change the oil pressure sensor.

 

What oil did you use? Oil filter also replaced? What is the current color of the oil?(if black within 1000miles of oil change, flush the engine) Watch video below for more information:

Now you have 2 working OPS. Take further action before you damage the engine!
