Has anybody rebuilt the power steering rack in their H3/H3T?

Has anyone rebuilt the steering rack in their H3 / H3T with any success? I don't recall seeing this topic discussed here. I recently watched a video of a rack from a Toyota being rebuilt, and it didn't seem too bad. I have a power steering rack that dumped it's fluid while going down some rocks at Windrock. I was considering getting one of these $60 seal kits and giving it a try. Keep it as a backup.

A few links to H3 Power Steering Rack Seal Kits:

Your rack "dumped it's fluid", did you crack the rack?

Thoroughly inspect the housing, bearings, rack, & pinion before you RESEAL!

This happened a few years ago and I still have the original power steering rack in the garage. I don't recall seeing any damage on the rack itself, which makes me believe it was a seal failure on the left end. If I decide to do this as a winter project, I'll come back and update this.

Winter projects rule! I know what those are all about, also being from up in the great Cold Azzed North... in between snow shoveling, that's the time to do stuff.

I getting some getting lined up now, buying parts....

Hey Alpha X, If you decide to rebuild it give ma a call buddy! I'll come over and watch/assist with the rebuild. Would be a good thing to have knowledge on for the future.
