Hi...new ( to me) H3 owner...didn't have it a week, when one time both front windows went down...then came up after 4 hours. Now, all 4 are Inop...nada...nothing. ordered/ installed new OEM switch panels both sides, still...windows stuck down. Battery FULLY charged, no codes, no problems...but car is undrivable until I fix this. Tried all the usual/ crazy YouTube " fixes"...no joy! Any working tips, much obliged.

 

You are saying the windows went down then back up by themselves?
Did you check power at the switches?

 

Hi...normal Ops, I put the front windows down in tandem. Drove an hour...they didn't go back up. Thinking I had the lock switches in the wrong position, I used every possible combo of lock/ unlocked, master lock...locked/ unlocked, running, not running. No joy. 2 hours later, they came up. Week later, nice day, front L/R windows down. Since then, they will not go up. No noises in the doors...if a motor is bad, it doesn't cause all 4 windows not to work. Impossible. Ordered/ installed new OEM switches. Same thing. All 4 windows, do not work. I read somewhere that if the Battery is weak, this can happen. I know this is a thing with BMWs...but not a car as primitive as an H3. I can only assume power is getting to the new switches because mirror control works, as does master U/L unlock switch. Very frustrating.

 

Don't know why you purchased and replaced all four switches which could have been easily checked out with a multimeter and I would suspect that there is no voltage at the switches in the first place. But anyway, have you simply tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds or so, as this seems to be the cure for not only window problems, but for door locks as well?

I've done every variation of the battery disconnect thing. What I'm thinking and dreading...that I'll have to disassemble the entire door, and tear it down to get to the main wiring harness plug....I'm reading more and more that condensation gathers/ accumulates on that plug and corrodes the bottom 2 to 4 contacts. That's why the Windows have stopped, but everything else on the Switch works perfectly. Not looking forward to this...opening door panels ALWAYS causes problems

 

When the windows aren't working, does the sunroof work? Front or rear wipers? If not, check the retained accessory power relay, relay #88? If the wipers and sunroof work, check fuses 68 and 63.

What year is your hummer?

 

Are you still trying to use the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, like beating the dead horse, replace ASAP with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. #1 first mod to be done to evert H3/H3T.

Does your 3 have a sunroof? If so, has the passenger side floor been wet?
