Just got back from flat towing the 3 from Wyoming, do it often but when I got home in CA, unhooked put key in ignition, turned to first position and it turned over twice in a row by itself with no start. Turned back took key out, tried again and would only turn over and got code P0171. Took MAF out, cleaned and it started. Parked in garage for 2 days then backed out to wash, sat for 3 hours outside, went to pull it in garage and did same thing but no code or CEL. Waited about 30 min and stared no problem. What gives? Battery is probably 4 years old, have the stinger connectors and has 59K miles.

 

May be a passlock issue, but the first thing to do is clean the contacts for the ignition switch before replacing anything. There are a couple fairly recent threads on this.

No sir, all stock but Airdoc 😉 and AFE dry filter.
