H3 transfer case compatibility
I have rebuilt 4493/4494 Tcases where the gears are missing teeth, snubber broke off and wreaked havoc, the chain broke and slapped against the inside of the case, etc.
As long as the case is not cracked it can be totally rebuilt. Any decent transmission shop can do a full rebuild.
All parts are available.

This is an easy solution. Rebuild it or replace it, does not have to be new.
Car-Part.com is a great start to source parts.
I am sure that the Vegas area has a capable transmission shop you could reach out to.

My apologies for the repeat duplicates and for the late response. Been dealing with a lot lately and still dealing with this pos transfer case issue. Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with helpful solutions and links to finding parts to rebuild my transfer case and thank you for the encouragement to do so. Your absolutely right and there being some bullchit on the internet but friggin aye there is some good bull**** as well just like you said lmao but after reading all your guys feedback I now know for sure the bullchit I read about not being able to rebuild my t case due to it being slightly driving while sounding like a chain was rubbing against it was complete bullchit and now I honestly want to rebuild it myself. I’ve done countless hours of studying and watching and reading every link sent on here and many many others and with the help of a buddy of mine who is a transmission guru I think I’m gonna take a shot at rebuilding it myself because God knows I can’t afford a transmission shops crazy prices and even if I could the DIY’er in me couldn’t do it lmao so if you guys have any more advice on rebuilding a 4494 NR4 it would be greatly appreciated just as all the information you’ve already blessed me with. It’s time to get my hog back out on the road. God bless everyone and happy holidays hope to hear from you all soon
there is a chain inside the transfercase and it does strech over time. so makes sense now that you mention "being slightly driving while sounding like a chain was rubbing against it". now with that issue is that you need to inspect to see if the chain has worn through the case from the slack grinding on it. because that would then either need a new half of a transfercase or some sort of welding on the case.
