H3 stalling upon acceleration
My H3 was running great until a few weeks ago and one day when I had to take it out it started just losing power out of nowhere upon acceleration. It was like no matter how much gas you gave it just sat there at the same low rpms until suddenly it would all of a sudden jump back up and catch and run normal for awhile then out of nowhere while turning into a parking space it did it again. This time when it caught there was a popping sound and afterward when it was started back up and pulled out of the parking spot there was a metal changing heard, but it still ran normally. Needless to say after I got it home I parked it on the carport and have left it sit until I can figure out wth it's problem is (it's always something with this moody b*!%h but I love it so). Anybody have a clue what it may be? Mainly the new metal clanging sound cause? I've pretty well listed all the things to clean, flush or change that would make the moody B try to stall, I'm hoping that the metal clang is a slipped timing belt, but coming to those of you far more used to owning these beasts than I for advice.
follow the sound and see if it is coming from your catalytic converters as maybe they have broken up and plugging your exhaust causing the power loss.
if it is coming from your oil pan then that would not be a good sign.

There is no timing belt, but there are timing chains behind the front and rear covers. The front chain controls the VVT and the chain tensioners where out. Of course we have no idea if yours is worn since you left out YEAR, MODEL of H3, and MILES.
