The stock air box does not need or use that little cone, go have look under your hood.

That is the air pump inlet tube going into the side of the OEM air filter box for the 2007 only, it draws from the box and requires no filter. The reason K&N uses that little cone on their intake kit for the 07 is they bastardized the system to make it "open" and had to put something over the end of the exposed air pump inlet and connect it to something so it does not fall over into the radiator or belt.

 

And to justify the price with eye candy.
