Default H2 performance question...

So I have a few questions regarding the offroad performance of the H2...

How much will the performance change on the H2 if it were lifted (say a 4-6 inch lift).

And does the H2 have the abbility to keep up with its big brother on the trails.

I am looking into the purchase of a Hummer (I've wanted an h1 for YEARS!) My wife hates the H1 stating its "load and impractical" (well yea, thats why I love it!) She could live with the H2, but I am not sure I can. I have been looking into the H2 and have found a few that I like which have been lifted. This truck will be my daily driver, but also see its fair share of off road time. Need help to decide

don't know about the change in performance with a lift, but if you're questioning the offroad capability of the H2 it probably isn't for you. it all depends on what you mean by offroad, but there are many threads showing what the H2 can do offroad - just do some research.

I don't know why you would lift an H2.... but... to quote the late Harold Hawes at Beckley WV: "add a front locker and some mud tires and that 2 will go anywhere my Alpha can"

The difference in off-road capability is night and day. In stock condition: The H1 is designed for off-road. The H2 is designed to drive over parking lot speedbumps, while looking pretty. Period.

I have been in both and own an H2, so I speak from some experience. I said in stock condition.

Theses guys are a bit misguided. Truth is the h1 is probably over all better off road and is made like a tank BUT, if you go and do a little researh on the Hummer Adventure Challenge you will find that an h2 came in 2nd, A h1 did come in first but its strange how an h2 beat out all the other h1's(which mostly all of the people who enter are in h1's). Read this article the standings are in the last paragraph

http://www.lynchhummer.com/articles/adv_challenge.html

An older h1 non alpha and a new h2 will cost you around the same. I myself have an 06 h2, i do love h1's very much and if i did want one bad enough could trade my h2, but the thing with that is the h1's in the trade range are the old 6.5 turbos and thats not the best motor in the world. So if i was in your shoes i would get a New h2 unless you can afford an H1 alpha.

O yeah heres a guy selling an awsome slantback h1

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...:IT&ih=005

Its one of the best looking h1s ive ever seen.

Also i have a buddy that just got a h1 wagon and islooking to getrid of it.Its a 98 but after 25k miles the motor went. They replaced it with a 99 motor that has 85k miles on it. I think he wants somewhere around 40 to 45 for it. Its brown and has a full roof basket and a winch.
