You have to look a bit closer, the K&N Intake for the 2007 H3 does not replace the resonator box, which is THE worst part in the OEM system as far as disruption of intake air. In other words, that is the first thing you want to get rid of if you expect any real gain in intake performance.

Put whatever aftermarket filter you want in the stock box.

Chips are for Kids. PCM tune is substantially better, you select your own parameters in the drill down order sheet.

Nobody mentioned the PCMofNC Efan conversion, frees up a solid bump in performance and appx 1 MPG. I been running one for 6 years.

James at Super Modulation is a straight up easy to work with guy. He also does an Efan conversion. Supermodulation Ported Throttle Body Exchange Service. - NECTRUCKS

sounds good so how much it cost for the tune Becuase I don't want to spend a lot of money, what about the exhaust? I just like the look of the kn intake so the airdoc give more performance huh

Yep, getting rid of the fan for an electric fan made the truck noticeably more peppy. It also didn't cool any better than stock. Drawback to the open K&N (or any open system) is that you could suck water in easier. I try to stay away from that much water now days, but am looking at how to make it better (enclose it and add a snorkle?) or go back to a stock airbox.

Sounds good ill get airdoc then and just replace the manufacture filter with kn and keep the box closed . What kind of spark plugs you recommend? I emailed super for the ported throttle. Also I am planning to change my fog lights to led! Do they even make them?

Stay with OEM spec Iridium spark plugs

These motors don't like the newest fad plugs like E3's.

Don't buy a K&N. Oiled filters mess with the MAF if improperly oiled. Just go with AFE Pro Dry mentioned earlier.

There are no "cheap" performance gains. It all cost money for a little gain here and there. The cost adds up as do the power gains.

yeah, everyone seems to think that oiled filters need to look red because the oil is red. K&N (in videos and print) say to just put a thin line of oil on the top of each pleat and let it soak in to the rest of the filter fabric. When done right you will have a light pink filter, however you will still probably have it on the MAF sensor and in the throttle body for the first couple thousand miles anyway. Tests have shown that a K&N doesn't filter as well when new, but filters better than paper (for the same # of miles) as it gets loaded up with dirt that traps more dirt. AND, in the H3, cause you to lose 1-2 hp over something like the AFE dry filter. The I5 doesn't flow enough cfm of air to realize the benefits from a K&N.

I have a K&N on my Alpha (was there when I bought it). I agree, most people don't know how to properly oil and use a K&N. Since I grew up riding and racing motorcycles in the SoCal deserts, I learned the proper way to oil a K&N more than 30 years ago. I have used K&N exclusively on all my off-road vehicles (motorcycles & ATVs), as well as my street legal vehicles that also see some off-road use for decades and have never had a problem with oil fouling the MAF.
