Default H3 Maintenance with 57K

Hey folks just found a 1 owner 2006 H3 with 57K on the clock. Since the vehicle has be in service now for 18 years should I go ahead and do the 150K service on it. I am most concerned with the auto transmission since some towing has been done on the vehicle.

Thoughts?

If you do not know exactly when the fluids were last changed, just like any other used vehicle purchase, change them all. For the H3, motor oil, Trans and filter, front and rear diffs, and the T Case making sure to follow the service bulletin for 06 and very early 07s to add an additional 250ML of fluid in the speed sensor hole after you fill it to the fill hole to get to the proper level for those early T Cases. Take a look at your manual for fluid types and viscosities.

I would also drain the coolant by removing the lower radiator hose and let it go into a bucket and refill with DexColl 50/50.

Welcome and congrats on your find.

I agree with DOC on this. EVERY FLUID and filter needs to be drained and filled. Don't forget to at least test the brake fluid too!

That way you know it has been done and you can start on your own service intervals.

Fluids have gotten very spendy. Might I recommend to check fluids such as front, rear pumpkins. Trans, transfer. Do change oil. Do check brake and steering.

Wow 57k

Like others...

oil and filter change
air filter
Trans flush and filter
front and rear differentials

You will have covered the bases.

You said---'1 owner' 2006 H3 with 57K on the clock

Just ask the owner, when the last time the Hummer was serviced.
